its again the time of the year to think again about the last 12 month .
As last year I personal can say that there was alot of ups and downs in our squadron and in the whole IL2 world .
Early in the year 2007 we descided to do our own racing nights .
The past few races where a totaly sucecces even if we should limit the slots for these races to round 10 - 12 Pilots. During the year we found alot of new members and here HH_Lev who is themanforthe Jets and HH_Blaze for making new missions and racing tracks and recruiting a lotof new members have my special thanks ;-)
Without doubt was one of the highlights Duxford 2007 , our annual meeting in Cambridge / England .
HH_Tincup , HH_Iceman , HH_BF1 and myselfe met in Cambridge on Friday, the Saturdat we went to the airshow and met Buff and his son ,some of the JFC and 2 great guys from Iceland.
Overall it was a fantastic weekend we spent there and no one of us could count the pints we had in the Eagles pub.
In September HH_Ice , HH_Utz , HH_Maike ,HH_Nick and HH_Bluemoon met inSolingen Germany for the Flugplatzfest , were we could have a closer look on a rebuilded Messerschmitt 109.
In the virtual world we had as mentioned above some great airraces and 2 squadron matches .
First against ~FOD~ wich was a very successfull day for us and the second on against SKY9T who gave us a good lesson inteamwork .
Merry Christmas , God Jul , Felize Natale , and Frohe Weihnachten , to all of you . Have good and sucessfull year 2oo8 .

On September the 1st and 2nd we had again the pleasuer to be guests HH_Utz in Solingen . The weather looked allright and it should stay dry the whole weekend. Our friends HH_Waryfan and HH_Tincup had to chancel their trip shortly so only 5 HHs headed to the airfield .
Even if the sun wasn't shining the beer tasted fantastic . This Christen Eagle II was build at home by a flight enthusiast , the kit was delivered in 32 boxes . The cost of that plane is around 40000 $ .
While passing all the planes at the displayline our attension was focused soon on a ME 109 V 7 . We couldn't belive our luck . This Messerschmitt is a rebuild of the real Messerschmitt 109 V7 from 1936 . It has 80 % of the size of the original is full airworth and was completly build by Alex Stein. I had the pleasure to sit in the cockpit . Of course I had to ask Mr. Stein how he handles the difficult taxing and take off for wich the ME 109 is well know .
The angle of the sitting position in the cockpit doesn't allow you to look infront of you or next to you . So take off and landing where the most tricky moments for the Pilots and alot of trainees crashed . Mr Stein mounted a noses cammera on the aircraft . For take off and landings he uses a small TFT display wich shows him exactly his position on the runway.
In the late afternoon a band started to play and while the last parashuters landed Utz neighbours arrived with a few bottles of schnaps . A few drinks later we were all in the best mood .
After danceing and eleminating the Jenever bottles the balloon glowing and fireworks started . It was a fantastic weekend with alot of laughing . Thanks to HH_Utz and his family who made it possible that we all could stay at their house overnight . Looking forward to 2008 !
